Whether you're going for a personal best, running your first race, or just want to soak up the atmosphere, this event offers something for everyone.

📍 The Basics

The Leicester Half Marathon and 10K typically take place in October, attracting runners from across the region and beyond. Organised by Run Leicester, the event supports a fantastic cause – with many runners raising money for the LOROS Hospice, a local charity providing care for terminally ill patients.

  • Race distances: Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and 10K

  • Location: Starts and finishes in Victoria Park, Leicester

  • Terrain: Road/pavement, with a few gentle inclines

👟 The Course

The Half Marathon route takes you on a scenic loop through Leicester’s diverse neighbourhoods, parks, and open roads. Expect crowd support, music, and some great cheer points along the way. The 10K is a flatter, faster out-and-back route that shares the same start and finish line — perfect for first-timers or speed chasers!

Both routes are well-marshalled with water stations, chip timing, and a friendly race-day vibe.

  • Arrive early. Parking gets busy, and the park fills up fast.

  • Stick to your plan. Don’t go out too fast — there are a couple of sneaky hills!

  • Enjoy the atmosphere. There's live music, charity stands, and post-race buzz all around Victoria Park.

  • Stay for the team photo. We always grab a group picture after — medals out, smiles on!
